According to the 92/98 resolution that took effect in 1998, Argentina implements S-Mark mandatory certification for electrical and electronic equipment with an input voltage in the range of AC 50-1000 Vac or DC 50-1500 Vdc. The resolution divided the products into 4 groups, which were implemented step by step from 2001 to August 1, 2004. All products must obtain S-Mark certification before they can enter the Argentine market. Argentina is a member of the CB system, and the CB certificate and report are recognized, which can save a lot of the trouble of repeating tests and sending samples. Argentina S-Mark safety certification does not require factory inspections. Applicants should provide Spanish nameplates (including safety warning marks) and user manuals. 1. Products with power jacks

For products that use an additional power cord set, the applicant can decide whether to add a power cord set when imported into Argentina. If the power cord is not attached, it must be mentioned in the test report, and the power cord set has not been evaluated, and the certificate will also be noted. If the power cord set is added in Argentina, it is part of the certification. The Rhein Argentina branch of Germany adopts the "normalization procedure" to go to the warehouse where the power plug is replaced to conduct a simplified factory inspection.

2. Products with fixed power cord

If the fixed power plug attached to the product imported into Argentina is not approved by the Argentine safety regulations, the local seller or importer must replace it with a plug approved by the Argentine certification unit. The German Rhein Company will conduct a simplified factory inspection before the issuance of the certificate.

3. Products without S-Mark logo or correct product label

The S-Mark logo can be attached as soon as the product arrives in Argentina, but before it goes on sale. The German Rhein Company will conduct a simplified factory inspection before the issuance of the certificate.

Argentina S-MARK certified products

1. Electric irons, air conditioners, electric heaters, portable kitchen appliances, power tools, electric razors, refrigerators, beauty salon products, freezer boxes, lamp holders and lighting parts, range hoods, auxiliary lighting equipment

2. Lamps, lawn mowers and similar appliances, washing machines, dishwashers, kitchen appliances (excluding portable kitchen appliances), microwave ovens, electric fans, vacuum cleaners and floor beauty related equipment,

3. All other appliances specified in Article 92/98, for example, products that comply with IEC 60950, 60065, 61010 and other specifications.
