On January 1, 2021, the UK's Brexit process will be officially completed. The relevant goods exported to the UK will no longer apply the CE mark, and the UK government has newly introduced the UKCA certification. Products sold to the UK must be affixed with the UKCA logo!
UKCA certification, like CE certification, is also a statutory mandatory certification requirement. That is to say, as long as the products covered by the relevant UKCA product regulations, they must obtain UKCA certification before they can enter the UK market. Otherwise, it is an illegal act and will face various possible penalties such as failure to clear customs, fines, and recalls.
Where does UKCA apply? Does the UK use UKCA?
For products that have been put on the UK market before January 1, 2021, companies have a one-year transition period to adapt to the new requirements, during which they can still use the CE mark until January 1, 2022.
