On February 23, 2021, Amazon announced on Amazon.com the measures for radio frequency device products, which are intended to continue to protect buyers and enhance the buyer experience. Starting from the second quarter of 2021, for products uploaded and sold in AIA, the authorization certificate/number of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) must be provided, or the FCC exemption certificate must be provided. This means that similar products need to comply with FCC ID certification.

The products targeted by this statement include but are not limited to the following equipment:

1) Wi-Fi equipment;

2) Bluetooth device;

3) Radio equipment;

4) Broadcast transmitter;

5) Signal enhancer;

6) Equipment using cellular communication technology.

What is radio frequency equipment?

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) classifies all electronic or electrical products that can emit radio frequency energy as radio frequency (RF) devices. Almost all electronic or electrical products can emit radio frequency energy. These products may cause interference to radio services operating in the 9 kHz to 3000 GHz radio frequency range.

If the product passes FCC certification, the company will obtain a certification certificate, which contains an FCC ID number authorized for the device. This number is required to upload products to the Amazon platform. For old products, Amazon will require FCC certification certificates and purchase invoices.
